I have a new site that is a work in progress. You may find a few dead links
right now because I'm still learning to set this up, but it's going to be huge
in time. I'm planning to incorporate experts in every field of business I can
think of, plus catagories for all kinds of blogs, social networks, business
opportunities, etc...

It's called Home Earners Community and you can find a sneak peak here.

You'll be able to set up your own community profile, blog, newsletters, connections,
etc...

I won't go into too many details, but you'll get an idea of what's coming when
you visit. Just don't sign up just yet. I'm not ready for the public.

Anyway, I'll be making an announcement here soon to let you know when I'll
be opening the site to everyone, so stay tuned!

It's great to keep in touch with your friends and colleagues, but does the price have to be spam, zombie bites and friend invitations from people you've never heard of?

The same question people used to ask about PCs can be asked of social networks: Were our lives easier or harder, better or worse, simpler or more complex, before they came around? The answer is yes. For some folks, social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace seem nearly as indispensable as e-mail, but creating and maintaining these virtual circles of friends turns out to be quite a bit of work, often necessarily so. Here are the 10 things that bug me most about today's social networking services.
10. MySpace kitsch
Unlike Facebook, which adheres to a relatively rigid blue-on-white, three-column design, MySpace lets you decorate your page with background images, themes and unconventional layouts. That flexibility provides just enough rope for many MySpacers, and the results range from ugly to completely unreadable. Some MySpace pages are so poorly designed that they can crash the hardiest browser -- and this alone has caused many social networkers to flee the aesthetic chaos of MySpace for the relative calm of Facebook. Thankfully, some enterprising script authors have come up with scripts that tone down the MySpace bling and clutter: One of my favorite MySpace scripts puts a button on the screen that turns custom page styles on and off with a single click.

9. The worms crawl in
One of the benefits of social networking is that your communications with fellow networkers bypass your normal e-mail inbox, providing a measure of safety against viruses, worms and other malware -- or so everyone thought. In 2006, however, Google's Orkut service (which is hugely popular in Brazil) was hit by the MW.Orc worm, which masquerades as an image file in a user's scrapbook and propagates to the profiles of other users, stealing personal data along the way. Despite attempts to block such infections, a new family of worms written in JavaScript attacked the service in late 2007, and the problems continue today. Of course, the issue isn't confined to Orkut; we've heard numerous stories of social networkers catching bugs from social networking sites outside Brazil, too.
8. LinkedIn is up tight
Almost anything goes on MySpace, but not so on LinkedIn, where the strictly business motif discourages personal expression outside of a photo (a fairly recent innovation), a status line and standard résumé entries. Sure, the whole point of LinkedIn is to put your most professional foot forward, but really, LinkedIn, couldn't we loosen the necktie just a little? LinkedIn may never support psychedelic backdrops or party photos, but it could do a lot more to help you project something more than an utterly antiseptic persona.

Real Simple Syndication: Demonstration for Newbies

I'm going to try to unlock the mystery abour rss feeds or Real Simple Syndication. It's simple..that's why they call it simple:) So don't be intimidated by it. It's simply a way of taking a remote site and moving the content to another place without having to know html codes or programming languages. You simply put a special url in a blank and all the content now and in the future moves where you place it. Whenever the content is updated on the remote site, it also is updated on the site where you place the feed url.

Ready to start learning? Ok here's where I started, so I'll use it to show you how to do it too.

Maybe you've seen those orange buttons that say either rss or atom. That's the rss feed button and all you need to do to get the url is right click the orange button and then select copy link location. Here's where you can practice. At the top of the forum you can see the orange button. Just right click it and copy the link location and you'll get a link that looks like this.

Now go to your own blogger account. You can always remove the post later.
After logging into your dashboard, click on layout. Then add a page element.
Find the one that says feed and click on that. Then paste the url in the feed
blank. Save and view blog. You'll see the feeds from the forum and every time
someone adds a new post, you'll get it in your blog.

Was that simple or what?

Now if you don't want this, just go back and delete it.

Every time you see an rss feed button on a page, you can add the content
from that page to your blog. See..you learned something today, now leave

Of course that's not as far as it goes, you also have to be drawn to win, but I thought it might be worth it to at least get in the running, so here's my little article and let's see how it goes.

My best method to get the most free hits is to use a firefox browser and surf from tab to tab clicking on each site once as I go to the next tab and again when I come back to click again. I also refer one traffic exchange to the next and so on. It's the referrals that help you get more hits and even cash sometimes. I try to surf on at least ten exchanges per day and using a tabbed browser helps me get the job odne in the shortest amount of time possible.

Birth Announcement

On February 13th at 12:18 PM,
My granddaughter, Nadia Alma Marie Hererra
was born. She was 8 lbs, 9 and 1/2 ounces
and was 19 and 1/2 inches long.
My daughter, Shanna was a real trooper.
Considering that this was her first baby I was
amazed to see her in action. No pain meds, no
epidural and no epesiotomy. She never even whimpered.
Mother and baby are both doing well and living with the baby's
dad, who is making sure they're both safe and secure and loved.

Nadia had her first checkup yesterday and is already up to 9 lbs, 14
ounces! By the time I get to keep her she'll be too big for me to carry!

But what really makes me happy is that I'll be able to SPOIL THIS ONE
rotten and send her back home!

Grandpaw would really be proud!

Since 1991 I have been in just about every new business opportunity that came along. I won't name them all here because I don't believe in putting other people's opportunities down, but I will tell you if you ask me which of them weren't worth the trouble.

My goal from the time I was a child was to either be a nurse, a missionary or a doctor. I thought I had missed the chance because of poor circumstances, but I was wrong. God still has his hand on me. He has always been there and was prodding me along to do what he wanted me to do but I was the stubborn one.

I finally gave up my own ambition, my own drive for success, and my own self serving attitude and put everything in his hands. And when I gave up, He took over.

In my life, despite the hardships and problems, I have been blessed beyond belief. I never even realized this before but I've met and shaken the hands of many millionaires, and I've sat down and had meals with Kings and Queens.

They were just wearing disquises..dressed like paupers and having their hand out asking me for help, which I provided to them by the Grace of a good God to the best of my ability.

Now my blessings are coming to me... I've been led into the world of my dreams.

I have discovered my mission and it is to be a servant to those who have nothing, and to bring those who have everything a vision of how giving can bring even more riches.

Making Friends and Really Getting to Know Them

I just got on Apsense and met this guy who I liked right off the bat, but
judging from his appearance I made a really bad mistake. This guy looks
like the guy next door and believe me, where I'm from the guy next door
was a tobacco farmer and a good ole boy and the image just didn't fit into
what I thought of as an internet marketing expert. This goes to show how
much a person can err in judgement when they "judge a book by it's cover".

I was really impressed with the way he writes and I'll admit that I had automatically judged this man by the way he looked and by his surroundings
in his picture. What a stupid mistake. I feel bad now. But you know what?
I have a feeling that we're going to be the best of friends now.

If you don't do ANYTHING else today get over there and take a look at this
ezine. I was amazed at all the things he's managed to put down on "paper"
here and it looks like this has a been a really long time in syndication.
The information is real and down to earth and once you read a little you
just can't stop. I wanted to spend the entire night there but I also wanted
to get back here and give him a nice writeup. I'm typing this really fast
because I want to go back and read some more. It's THAT good.

I am going to have to confess and ask God to forgive me for thinking this guy
was a 'hick'. LOL What am I saying? I'm a hick too so we should get along
pretty good, huh?

Tag! You're It!

When we talk about tagging, we're not actually tagging people, and it's not a game. It's a way for you to put a tag or keyword that describes your bookmarks and gives them more of something to grab onto when others are searching for those key words.

So in a sense, we can say that tagging your bookmarks will help people to find your blogs, sites, bookmarks or discussions faster and easier, and at the same time they help you to get higher search engine rankings.

If you'll notice at the bottom of my blogs, there are tag words. These words describe what the blog is about, but they also help others find this blog faster when they're searching for social bookmarks or social networking blogs.

If you go to sites like del.icio.us, you can read all about tagging and how many tags are enough, or too much. Most people try for at least five, but no more than ten or fifteen. And just like keywords, you don't want to have the same ones listed too many times or you might be accused of "tag spamming".

Just try to have as many as you can think of that are relevant to what your doing, and don't try to outdo anyone. If you also combine tagging and bookmarking with visiting other people's bookmarks, and then adding them to your own relevant bookmarks, you'll be helping each other as they will most likely do the same for you.

Monotizing Your Social Networks

Most social networking sites will remove your posts if you send links to business opportunities and that's fair, considering that most of them are about meeting people and making friends more than promoting affiliate programs and mlm opportunities. But you can still earn a considerable amount of visitors to your sites if you just follow the rules and promote yourself as someone who is interested in business. People's curiosity is a very interesting thing. People tend to ask questions about you if you don't put it all out there for them. So use the element of mystery to make people curious about what it is you're doing that's making you money. There's no rule against that.

You can usually have at least one link on your page to your website, and then if you wnat to keep your account you need to watch out and resist the temptation to send your links to members. Just one report of spam and you're gone.

But if you make your page interesting enough and you approach people in a friendly manner and ask them questions about what they like or make good comments and rate their pages, they'll be more likely to return the favor and ask you questions about your page, AND your business opportunity.

If your opportunity is about health and wellness, just write blogs on this subject. Don't try to sell anything, just give good information about the things your products help people to achieve. Tell what made you want to work in this particular field, and what makes you feel good about it.

Whatever you do, don't come off as desperate to sell products or make money. That's a major turn off for most people. But if you give clear and valuable information about what people are looking for in a business opportunity and don't give the name of the opportunity or the products they sell, you'll find that people will be more likely to ask you what it is. THEN you have the opportunity to ask them to send you a private message, where you can take aim and fire. But even then, don't keep sending them more links to your product or signup pages. Just let them make the decision. You don't want to be pushy. Just be a friend and offer your assistance if they need it.

It doesn't matter which social network you're using this works.
If you don't sell you'll get sales. It happens almost every time. People want to believe that they made a decision to do something without being prodded. Let it be
THEIR decision and that's all you need to do. BACK OFF.

Social Bookmarking and Network Tools

Just like any other job you do, you need to have the right tools
for social bookmarking and networking.
(1) You need a good tabbed browser
so you can keep all your social networking sites in one place.
I prefer to use Firefox because it helps me to keep everything
in my bookmarks toolbar where I can see at a glance where all
my social bookmarks are. It also helps to keep my logins safe
and loads them for me so I don't have to remember them or look
them up in my files.

Make sure you read the setup tips when you download Firefox so
you can see how easy it is to use. Whatever you save in your
bookmarks can be given a special folder and you can open one
site at a time or you can open them all at once and just click
from tab to tab to "do your thing".

The next tool I use is the Google Toolbar.
It works really well right along with Firefox to do your google searches, plus
it comes with other tools that will help you to add your bookmarks and enables
you to see your most recent searches so you don't have to go into your history
to find them. It also helps you to login to your Gmail account and has a lot
of neat buttons you can add, and the best thing of all is it's absolutely
free.

I've found a lot of new social networking/bookmarking sites through using this
toolbar in Firefox and it works in other browsers just as well.

Another thing you need if you want to share your bookmarks with thousands of
people all over the world, is a del.icio.us account. This is just one of the
many bookmarking sites there are, and I really like being able to add my bookmarks
as I go and then check in a few days and find out how many people are hooked
up with me through their bookmarks. It helps you to get your sites indexed
faster too. You'll also find a button for Deli.icio.us in the Google Toolbar.

Most of these things are already incorporated into Firefox, so if you just
get the Firefox browser and click on tools/addons you'll find them already
there to add to your browser.

I found one really neat one that I'm also using to get my programs published
and that's the StumbleUpon button. They send you to pages according to your
interests and you can click a thumbs up or down to vote on the ones you like
or dislike and they'll adjust it accordingly.

I'll add more sites as I go along, but for now this should be enough to get
you started. The main thing is to make friends and have fun, and everything
else will come along. You'll be surprised at how many people are already
using these sites. And you'll be able to add new and exciting sites to your
internet profiles.

Ryze Business Networking

This one has been around for years and there are probably thousands of members still using it. I need to go in more often and change my page, but at one time it was really hot. A friend of mine started a program on Ryze called The System 7 Club. We all put seven of our favorite friends that we voted on and we all had the same 7 friends with pictures linked to their networking pages and it became very viral. Everyone who was anyone wanted to be a part of it. I haven't checked in a while but I think there are still some who have the same seven people on their pages.
I took it to a whole new level and put seven stars on my page with every single one of my friends linked through a rotator on the seven stars, so when new people visited everyone had a chance to be visited through the stars. Oh well, you'd have to see it to understand it I guess, but it was good at the time. I've since changed the page again and they're no longer there. Let's see what's on there now. Feel free to click and find out.

First Stop on Our Journey

There are a lot of places you can sign up and meet people, that's
always a lot of fun, meeting new people, sharing ideas, and making
friends. But it's tempting to send them your links and try to recruit
them into your programs to make money too. And that's not always the
best way to go about social networking.

What you really want to do if you're into making money with referral
programs is to invite friends you already know and meet with them
in all your favorite sites. Then introduce them to other friends
and help them to build their list of contacts too.

You can do all this on MySpace, Bizzy Blogz, and BizPreneur, as well
as Bebo, and many more.

You can use the browse and search options to find out who is married,
who is straight or gay, who is interested in the same things you are
and who lives close to you. Add them as friends and get to know them
through chatting and adding your graphics and bulletins to their pages.

I've found a lot of fun people on a site I just found in my Firefox
browser add ons. It's called StumbleUpon and it's a lot of fun. You can click on the stumble button and be taken to new sites that match your
interest. Set up a profile with all the things you like to do and people
will give you a thumbs up and rate your stumble profile, and you can really
make a lot of friends just by visiting new pages and rating them and
adding them as friends. This one is way different from the others.

Do you remember the game of tag? It was a lot of fun
from what I still remember. This is a slight bit different though.
I'm going to start a blog about tagging, social bookmarking and
blogging with social bookmarks from places like De.li.ci.ous
and others where your bookmarked pages are saved and you add tags
to them and other people who have the same bookmarks are able to
find you with them.

I'll also be posting links from all the social networking sites I'm
involved with so you can go take a look and discover new and exciting
ways to market online. This is going to be an ongoing thing, so stay
